FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Coming to Scarborough Citadel on Sundays

If you're curious about what happens in church on Sundays at Scarborough Citadel you can check us out on our Facebook page, or, below you'll find a few of the most commonly asked questions to help you feel comfortable visiting for the first time. If you still have questions give us a call at 416-759-1721. We'd love to connect with you.

Who will I see there?

You will likely find someone who comes from your demographic, and culture at Scarborough Citadel - someone who looks like you! We have a diverse congregation! If you're young or old, male or female, new to Canada or have lived here your whole life, Christian or non-Christian, you will fit in.

What should I wear?

Wear whatever you like - just be comfortable. Church is more relaxed than it used to be. Some people dress up but others wear casual clothes. At Scarborough Citadel you'll also see some people in a Salvation Army uniform. You don't have to wear one to attend, or belong, but some people do. Wear what you feel comfortable wearing.

How long is it?

The church service lasts about 75 minutes. Afterwards you're invited to join us for coffee or tea and a cookie in the foyer. We'd love to chat and get to know you. This is a time when many people catch up with each other and enjoy just being together.

What's the atmosphere?

Upbeat, joyful! We like to sing and have both brass band and guitars & drums to accompany us.

Sincere, thoughtful. There is time to hear from the Bible and consider what it meant and what it means for us today

What about kids & teens?

We love kids and teens! Infants are welcome to gurgle and chatter in our services, but if you'd feel more comfortable we have a nursery room where you can let them play while listening to the service

Part way through the worship time kids kindergarten-grade 6 are invited to leave for Sunday school (a time of learning and fun.)

Every other week teens (grades 7-12) are also invited to leave the service where they meet together to discuss the topic of the day in an informal atmosphere.
